Up-and-coming pop-rock band to visit San Francisco
A pop-rock band founded in 2017 is coming to San Francisco.
Chase Petra is a trio from Long Beach, California, comprising drummer Evan Schaid, Brooke Dickson on bass and vocals, and vocalist and guitarist Hunter Allen. Allen and Schaid began playing in various bands when they were middle schoolers, but they did not come together until they added Dickson to the mix. They began writing together, which became the impetus for real growth, not just as young people growing into adulthood, but as artists as well.
Although they were in the arts, the three musicians were at a loss. Evan was drumming but not enjoying the work, Dickson was singing opera in college but felt out of place, and Hunter was at a loose end. Joining together changed their lives.
They released “Liminal,” their debut album in 2019 and followed it in 2022 with “4 o’clock in the afternoon,” and EP. They have also released several singles including “Soapy Water,” “Reliable Narrator” and a cover of “Anti-Hero” by Taylor Swift. They toured in support of NOAHFINNCE, a British alt-singer, during spring, 2024.

Chase Petra will be at The Independent in San Francisco on July 11. The 500-seat venue is located at 628 Divisadero Street. Concerts are traditionally publicized with posters, which organizers can find at local print shops.
