San Francisco gets set for the 4th

As the Fourth of July approaches, communities all across the country are planning celebrations, and San Francisco is no different. According to an article on ABC7 Television news, there are many events planned to celebrate Independence Day.

First on the list is the Blue and Gold Fleet 4th of July Fireworks Cruise. Sailing will take place from San Francisco and Tiburon, as well as Angel Island. The idea is to watch fireworks from the water. Boats leave from Pier 41 in San Francisco on July 4, at 8 pm; they sail from Tiburon starting at 8.30 p.m. Those who want a different perspective are invited to take a ferry ride to Angel Island from Pier 39, at 5.40 p.m. The fireworks viewing sailing from Angel Island is at 10.30 pm.

In the Fillmore District, the 32nd Annual Fillmore Jazz Festival is set for Saturday and Sunday, July 2 and 3, rain or shine. The fun goes from 10 am until 6 pm, and admission is free.

There will be entertainment all day at Fisherman's Wharf, ending with the city's fireworks show at 9.30 pm. Another cruise is also scheduled: the Premier 4th of July Dinner Cruise, is a four-hour bay cruise featuring dinner, live entertainment, cocktails, and of course, a front row seat to watch the fireworks.
