San Francisco celebrates holidays in its own style

San Francisco is known for the many events it hosts that are a little out of step with the rest of the country. One such event is coming up for the holidays.

The Official San Francisco Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl is now on the schedule, and everyone is invited to attend. Those who take part in the event will enjoy inexpensive drinks, strange decorations, and some will win gifts. They are also encouraged to wear their ugliest Christmas sweater, outfits inspired by Hannukah, or anything they like. Santa Claus costumes, naughty elves, and creative costumes of all kinds are welcome.

The bars taking part will have drink specials available. Thus far, the participating establishments include the Wreck Room, Zeki’s Bar, Soda Pokinski, Jackalope, El Lopo, Lush Lounge, McTeague’s, and Mayes.

Participants are asked to pick up maps of the crawl and their wristbands at Mayes. Once they have checked in, crawlers can choose their own route. Organizers anticipate there will be a large crowd of people taking part in the crawl, which makes creating a schedule of specific stops and times impossible. Instead, people can follow along at their own pace. The maps for events such as this can be created by using flyer printing.

The Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl is set for December 18, with maps and wristbands available at Mayes from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
