Rock band to play San Francisco

A Seattle-based pop rock group will be making an appearance in San Francisco soon.

Deep Sea Diver comprises Elliot Jackson, who plays the synthesizer and guitar; drummer Peter Mansen; and Jessica Dobson, who does vocals and handles the keyboard and plays guitar. Dobson and Mansen are married.

Dobson kicked off the band’s career in 2009, when she dropped an EP titled “New Caves.” Mansen accompanied her on the recording. The band’s debut album was the full-length “History Speaks,” which they released under their own label, High Beam, in 2012. At the time, Dobson was with a band called The Shins, as a touring member. Deep Sea Diver dropped their second album, “Secrets,” in 2016.

The band refused to let COVID stop them, and released “Stop Pretending,” a single, in 2020. They had a good year in 2020 when their third album, “Impossible Weight, was voted “Top Album of 2020” by KEXP listeners in Seattle.

A review of the band in concert discusses their informal “DIY-style setup” that charmed the audience and helped make the evening a success:

“But as impressive as the band's production value was, it was an auxiliary component to their musical performance, which has grown by leaps and bounds.”

Deep Sea Diver will be at The Independent in San Francisco on February 6, at 8:00 pm. Colorful Posters are great tools to advertise events like this, and can be created by event organizers using professional poster printing.
