Noted storyteller and lyricist to stop in San Francisco

A talented songwriter and vocalist will be performing soon in San Francisco.

John Hiatt is a native of Indianapolis whose albums reflect a variety of the styles he enjoys playing. These include country, blues, and new wave. He has won nine Grammy nominations and received other awards from the music industry, including induction into the Music City Walk of Fame in 2007. He also won “Songwriter/Artist of the Year” at the 2000 Nashville Music Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting in 2008 from the Americana Music Association, and the BMI Troubadour Award in 2019.

Hiatt got his break when Three Dog Night covered his song “Sure as I’m Sittin’ Here.” The song went on to hit the Top 40, and Epic Records signed Hiatt. To date, he has released 24 studio albums and two live albums. The latest studio recording, “Leftover Feelings,” dropped in 2021.

His songs deal with relationships, redemption, and living life as he sees fit. He has appeared on dozens of albums by other artists, and his songs have been recorded by Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, B.B. King, Emmylou Harris, Bob Dylan, and many others. A review says:

“He touched peoples’ hearts, had them laughing one minute and wiping their eyes the next, and warmed a whole roomful of souls.”

John Hiatt will be at Bimbo’s 365 Club on Columbus Avenue on Friday, November 8. When they plan concerts like this, organizers may work with a printer who uses poster printing to create advertising.
