The founding members of The Coronas, Danny O'Reilly, Conor Egan, and Graham Knox, met at Terenure College in Dublin. They released “Heroes or Ghosts,” their first album, in 2007. Four singles from the album made it into the Top 40 on the Irish singles chart. Their 2009 album, “Tony Was an Ex-Con,” was named “Best Irish Album” at the Meteor Awards in 2010.
The group is known for its moody and introspective style, using lyrics and songs to discuss relationships. They often embrace new techniques that give them even more dimension, such as adding strings to the “Reprise” EP, launched in 2018.
In live performance, The Coronas achieve a sincerity that makes their shows feel intimate, but simultaneously their anthem-like work seems suitable for a large venue. They have opened for stars like Justin Timberlake and Sir Paul McCartney.
A review says:
“Seeing this award winning, platinum selling Irish Rock band... was amazing. Front man Danny O'Reilly opened the show... From the first note he had the audience in the palm of his hand... This is a band that once you see/hear them you will be absolutely hooked.”
The Coronas will be at The Independent on November 11, at 8:00 pm, a rescheduled date. Flyer printing can be used to publicize events like this.
