What's Happening in San Francisco, CA…

Devil Makes Three coming to San Francisco

Americana and folk music are on the schedule for San Francisco, courtesy of two bands on the way to the City by the Bay.

The Devil Makes Three is on tour, with Bridge City Sinners accompanying them. The Devil Makes Three formed in 2002 in Santa Cruz, which remains their home base. They are an acoustic outfit whose style has been described as Americana mixed with other genres including the Blues, folk, country, and bluegrass.

Their first album, “The Devil Makes Three,” dropped in 2002, and in 2009, they released “Do Right Wrong,” which opened at the US Grass chart’s top spot. They released a live album in 2011, and their 2013 album, “I’m a Stranger Here,” rose to No. 2 on the US Grass chart and the Heatseekers chart, the first time the band appeared there. They plan to release their latest album, “Spirits,” in 2025.

A review says:

“When you watch The Devil Makes Three perform you can't help but feel happy and content.”

Bridge City Sinners, also performing, is from the Pacific Northwest and play everything from Appalachian death folk to jazz. The outfit is a string band that has played festivals from the Bluegrass String Summit in Oregon to Muddy Roots.

The bands will be at The Fillmore in San Francisco on March 5. Performances like this are often advertised with posters, which organizers can find at print shops.
