University to hold music and dance fest

Sacramento area music lovers are invited to attend the 7th Annual SacWorldFest 2014.

A week-long event that starts with a ‘kick off’ gala and culminates with the SacWorld Fest Music and Dance Festival, the festival has had over 10,000 people in attendance in previous years.

The opening gala will feature a mix-and-mingle at which attendees can bid on art pieces while they enjoy drinks and hors’ d’oeuvres and listening to musical groups from around the world. Business-minded attendees may take the opportunity to exchange digital Business Cards.

Following the gala, events and attractions will be held around Sacramento all week long.

The SacWorld Fest Music and Dance Festival will feature entertainment, culinary demonstrations by local chefs, dance demos, an arts and crafts, area and interactive educational opportunities. Exhibits will show art, writing, and clothing of many world cultures. Also, the Wells Fargo Main Stage, The Global Folk Music Stage, the Fat City Performance Area, and the Unity Stage will all have performances throughout the afternoon.

The gala will kick off September 27, with the opening event running from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sacramento State University. From September 28 through October 4, there will be various activities throughout the capital area, and then the closing event will be held on October 5, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, also at Sacramento State University.
