Sacramento shares fall treats

Micro but Mighty Bakers will host an outdoor dessert exchange in Sacramento this October.

The event will bring home bakers, professionals, and sweets enthusiasts together for an afternoon centered on community-made treats. The fall edition of Sugar Social encourages participants to contribute something from their own kitchens.

Each registered participant is expected to provide approximately 12 to 24 portions of a homemade dessert. Seasonal flavors such as apple, pumpkin, maple, cinnamon, caramel, and pecan are encouraged but not required. Guests may also purchase an item from a local cottage baker.

After checking in, attendees will receive an assigned entry group intended to reduce crowding around the dessert tables. Participants will receive containers for collecting samples before settling elsewhere in the park with blankets or lawn chairs. Desserts should be accompanied by a small card identifying the item and listing ingredients or possible allergens.

The gathering is family-friendly, although children younger than 16 must attend with a parent or legal guardian. Leashed dogs are permitted where park regulations allow, but animals must remain away from food tables. Street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood.

General admission tickets cost $14.64 in total. Tickets are nonrefundable, but may be transferred or given to another participant if the ticketholder cannot attend.

Hosts of community food gatherings often use poster printing to promote participation rules, schedules, and seasonal themes.

Sugar Social is scheduled for Saturday, October 10 from noon to 3:00 pm at 3330 McKinley Blvd, Sacramento.
