Those who love chicken wings can grab their folding chairs, cameras, water bottles, and cash and head out to the Sixth Annual Sactown Wings Festival soon. Over 40,000 chicken wings are expected to be there.
Music will be provided by Groove Thang, a party band featuring music of the 70s, 80s and 90s, plus a few hits from today.
Younger guests can enjoy the Kids’ Zone where they can get their faces painted, jump in inflatables, and watch balloon twisting. Adults will have their own Adult Zone thanks to Xoso Sport & Social League.
General admission will be $10 for advance tickets and $15 on event day. VIP Wing Judge tickets will run at $45 and will not be available on event day. The VIP tickets include early entry (1:00 pm), a souvenir mug, 20 wing tickets, and a judge’s t-shirt sporting the event’s Logo Design.
Only 300 VIP Judge tickets will be sold and people holding these tickets will be the only ones who will be allowed to vote in the Best Wings competition. Kids under the age of six will get in for free.
Round One of the Wing Eating contest will begin at 3:00 pm, Round Two at 4:00 pm, and the Championship Round will begin at 5:00 pm.
Sactown Wings will be at Southside Park, 2115 6th Street, Sacramento on Sunday, July 28 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
