For 68 years, the Sacramento area has been home to the annual Sacramento Autorama. O’Reilly Auto Parts is once again bringing the three-day event to town in mid-February.
Over 500 vehicles will be in the Expo buildings vying for awards. The buildings will also feature car-themed exhibitions. The Sound Off will take place outdoors at the towers.
The Pavilion will house the Butch Gardner Clubhouse, composed of 25 car clubs. Live music will be playing all three days. In D Building the Suede Pavilion, the Autorama DJ will also feature live music.
Autorama Drive-In will take place in the Building A Lot on Saturday and Sunday. Over 500 vehicles are expected to participate.
The awards ceremony will be Sunday evening starting at 4:00 pm. Awards will include Bailon, Bertolucci, Barris, and the Big “B” Bagdasarian. Others will be the Best Rod, Street Machine, Truck, Restored, and Custom. The two most coveted ones will be the King of Kustoms and the Custom d’Elegance. Winners of these car shows usually have pictures taken with their beauties, which often go to local Print shops for duplicates.
Sacramento Autorama will be Friday, February 14 from noon until 8:00 pm; Saturday, February 15 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm, and Sunday, February 16 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. The event will be held at the Cal Expo, the Expo Center Buildings, and the surrounding areas in and around the Pavilion.
