It is unlikely that anybody in Sacramento will want to duck away from the upcoming Natomas Schools Foundation’s 5th Annual Natomas Duck Pluck Festival.
More than 8,000 people are expected to turn out to support this fundraiser, which supports the athletic, academic, art, and other programs within Natomas’ Unified School District. Admission will be free but, in order to win the $10,000, one of the 600 available raffle ducks must be purchased.
In excess of 100 booths will be offering festival goers food, art, dance, and music. The kindergarten classes at Two Rivers Elementary will hold pig races while the 3rd graders at Two Rivers Elementary will host the duck regatta. ‘Chuck a Duck’ will be sponsored by PACT of Natomas Charter School, and the Asian Club of Natomas High School will present Japanese Paper Cranes.
Other booths will have such activities as hair chalking, photo booth cut outs, button making, robot driving, and cookie decorating. The main event will be the Duck Pluck Raffle, for which the first prize will be $10,000, second prize $2,000 and third $1,000. Rubber duck “tickets” are $100 each.
Those wishing to promote the event may want to advertise by contracting with local Print companies to have flyer printing carried out.
