Sacramento locals and people from throughout the area should get ready for a musical extravaganza, as the city once again plays host to the 2015 Sacramento Music Festival.
This will mark the 47th year the festival has been held, and it should once again prove to be a very popular event.
The Festival, held over Memorial Day weekend, will feature four days of nearly nonstop music. The kickoff will be held Friday night with a parade to follow on Saturday morning. Musical acts will be performing at 24 venues across the city (including four luxury hotels and one aboard the Delta King river boat), and will feature some major headliners, such as Los Lobos, the James Hunter Six, and John Lee Hooker Jr. Virtually all genres of music will be represented. Attendees may want to bring their best camera for picture taking, and later poster printing.
The Festival will be held May 22-25 in Old Sacramento, and schedules of performers, times and venue locations can be obtained at a variety of locations downtown. Times in general run from 11:00 am to midnight, Friday through Saturday, and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Sunday. The city will be providing a host of transportation options, including a ‘first come, first served’ free shuttle service. Ticket prices range from $10 for individual performances to $110 for a four-day pass. The parade will start at 10:00 am.
