The California State Fair will be starting in a few days.
A total of 22 contests are on the line up. Along with the traditional California Counties exhibits, there will be pie and corn dog eating and a cornhole championship. Contests will range from cheese, beer, wine, and olive oil, to plein air, fine arts, crafts, photography, and a California Student Showcase. There will also be canning, baking and livestock competitions. Winners are sure to want pictures taken so they can get Copies at local Print shops.
Special events will be motorcross, horseracing, and fireworks. Papa Murphy’s Park will have a show with El De La Guitarra, Arsenal Efectivo, Omar Ruiz, Legado 7, and Los Hijos De Garcia, and another show called Kidzbop Live.
On Mondays, guests can get in free when they bring three nonperishable food items for the Elk Grove Food Bank. On Tuesdays, all midway rides will be $2 and kids under 12 will get in free. Seniors Savings Day will be every Friday and $2 A Taste Day will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Splash Dogs will be a series of dog jumping contests where dogs will be jumping into the water at the Splash Dogs Dock at the Miller Lite Racetrack Grandstand. All dogs are invited to participate.
The fair will begins tomorrow and continues through the July 29 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm each day at Cal Expo 1600 Exposition Blvd.
