A Midtown Halloween Festival and Pooch Parade will be here in Sacramento at the end of October. This is an annual event presented by the Midtown Business Association and sponsored by the Sutter District.
The Pooch Parade will be the highlight of the afternoon, as pets dressed in Halloween regalia will parade down the avenue. Winning owner and pooch costumes will receive prizes.
A mobile ‘Pop-up dog park’ will be set up for those canines under 30lb to meet and greet other dogs of similar weight or smaller.
Pets must bring their owners. The event will have a variety of activities including face painting, a bounce house, and balloon animals. The Food Literacy Center will be offering healthy snacks in its granola booth.
There will also be live music and hands-on crafts. A photo booth will give everyone a chance to get some pictures of their families and their pooches. These pictures would make interesting subjects for future poster printing or T-Shirts for family events such as reunions.
Kids are invited to go on a mini pumpkin scavenger hunt in the morning, and the Front Street Animal Shelter will be showing pets that are ready for adoption.
The festival and parade will be Friday, October 29 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in Marshal Park, 915 27th Street, Sacramento. The parade will step off at 2:00 pm.
