Sacramento gears up for a challenging obstacle run

The Insane Inflatable 5k is just around the corner, so those interested will want to mark their Calendars and head for the gym to get in shape.

The purpose of this event is to have fun, so it will not be timed and participants can walk between the unique, challenging obstacles if necessary. Some choice waves are already filled, so spots are disappearing rapidly.

The course will be approximately three miles long and will consist of inflatables, such as the starting unit where participants climb up the first side and slide down the other side. One is called the Crash Course Push, where participants will push and dodge hanging balls while clambering up and down valleys and peaks.

This year the obstacle course has added six new inflatables, including one called Tangled Up and another named Wrecking Balls. There will also be inflatables with names such as Big Balls, the Sling Shot, the Jump Around, the Mattress Run, and the Wave Runner. Midway games, musical entertainment, food vendors, and a merchandise tent with Promotional Products will keep attendees entertained.

The fun will be at the California State Fair, 1600 Exposition Blvd., Sacramento, on March 26. The first of the 13 waves will begin at 8:30 am. Numbered waves will follow every 15 minutes. Spectators will be welcome at the event, which will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
