Medical expertise event takes place in Sacramento

The 2024 Advanced Practice Annual Symposium is scheduled to take place this month. It is being hosted by the UC Davis Medical Center Advanced Practice Grand Rounds Committee.

The program will include a welcome session, followed by the Advanced Practice Providers (APP) of the Year recognition ceremony. The keynote address will be delivered by Shawna Chrisman, a successful entrepreneur and certified nurse practitioner, recognized for her leadership in the Sacramento entrepreneurial community.

Other notable sessions will include Major Steven Holmes discussing the day-to-day life of a military CRNA, and a presentation on extensive in-home healthcare led by APPs from Dispatch Health. Holly Kirkland Kyhn and Deb Bakerjian will share insights on delivering healthcare to homeless populations through a transportable clinic, while Lorne Sachs will highlight the impact of medical volunteerism after retirement.

The symposium will also offer Category 1 CME credit for 2.5 hours and will raise funds to support the Advanced Practice Education and Scholarship Fund.

General admission tickets for the symposium are priced at $45. For students, a discounted rate is available at $28.52. Both ticket options will be available for purchase up until the day of the event. Poster printing can help get information out about events such as this one.

Scheduled for Tuesday, September 24 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the symposium will be held at the UC Davis Medical Center Auditorium at 2335 Stockton Blvd.
