For an afternoon that may tickle their funny bone, Sacramento families can enjoy going to the theater for the upcoming movie ‘A Muppet Christmas Carol’.
Plenty of holiday spirit is likely to be brought in with this romp through Dickens’ classic tale with Kermit, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, and Miss Piggy.
Santa Claus will make an appearance in the lobby to mingle with the little ones before the show. Holiday music will ring throughout the event and treats will be available. Everyone will want to bring either a nonperishable food item or a new toy for Sacramento’s less fortunate children, as the theater will be collecting these items for distribution.
Muppet fans have enjoyed the Christmas antics of Frank Ozs’ puppets since the movie’s release in1992. Non-puppet actors include Michael Caine as the skin-flint Ebenezer Scrooge, and Jessica Fox, Jerry Nelson, and Don Austen as the Christmas ghosts. Scenes from this zany film would make great subjects for poster printing.
The Cress Theater is a historic theatre in downtown Sacramento that is currently going through renovation. It remains operational, however, and still exhibits independent and foreign films, along with hosting community concerts and special community events like this one.
This event is scheduled for Sunday, December 21, at the Crest Theatre, 1013 K St., Sacramento. Doors open at 1:00 pm, and the show will start an hour later.
