Locals can support local educational museum and enjoy wild game at the same time at the upcoming Huntsman’s Dinner. Matt Woolston, chef of the SupperClub, will prepare a menu of regional wild game for those in attendance.
For the second year, local huntsmen will be providing the likes of abalone, salmon, elk, venison and duck for the occasion. Beverages that pair with the menu will be available. Also, a silent auction will be held throughout the evening with items including entertainment tickets and restaurant certificates.
Those that attend will be helping to benefit the Discovery Museum Science and Space Center, which offers many programs to the community from fieldtrip and scouting programs to summer camps. It also provides outreach programs that go into the public schools and home schooling venues. The museum sends out a monthly newsletter, and local brochure printers continue supplying it with educational and museum publications.
Currently, the museum is exhibiting Space Quest, a popular interactive exhibit about the solar system. Guests can also enjoy the Challenger Learning Center, the Planetarium, the Archaeology hands-on Dig, and the Nature Discovery Room.
The dinner will be hosted by the Sacramento Horsemen’s Association at its Historic Saddle Oaks Club House, 3200 Longview Drive, Sacramento this Friday, February 27, from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. The cost will be $125 per person.
