Sacramento locals looking for a way to celebrate the New Year without having to stay up late can attend a wholly different type of celebration this year, in the form of Noon Year’s Eve: A Free Family Festival.
This high-energy event offers something for people of all ages. This New Year’s Eve celebration counts down to 12:00 noon instead of midnight, making it easy for parents to share the excitement with their young ones.
The festival will featuring multicultural performances by a variety of groups, such as the Ohana Dance Group, the Sacramento Pipe Band, the Ebo Okokan Afro-Cuban dance group, and tunes from the All Family Boys Acapela Group.
Germar the Magician will also be entertaining attendees throughout the festival as will Afia Walking Tree as she bangs on more than 100 drums. Those who wish to do so can also take a tour of the museum. Just before the countdown begins, everyone will get hats and noisemakers.
Those planning to attend may want to bring a camera for snapping pics of family members for possible later use in making Holiday Cards for next year, especially during the visit from Father Time.
The festival will be held Friday, December 31 at the Crocker Art Museum, 216 O St., Sacramento, running from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. The event is being sponsored by Raley’s grocery store and thus will be free for everyone.
