Sacramento chicken wing lovers can get ready for the 1st Annual Sactown Wings Festival, which will be winging its way in later this month, organized by Nick Berruezo of Sactown Wings.
Thus far, five local chicken wing vendors, Chicago Fire, Water’z Wingz, Barwest, Blue Cue, Fieldhouse American Sports Pub, and Clark’s Corner have signed up to collectively serve over 20,000 chicken wings to prospective attendees.
Along with food, live music will also be offered, provided by Riotmaker, Cresent Katz, and the Golden Cadillacs. There will also be activities such as a cornhole toss, pong, and giant Jenga games. The event organizers expect more than 1,000 people to attend the festival, a perfect opportunity for picture taking, some of which could be later used for poster or postcard printing.
$10 tickets will get guests through the door, while $30 tickets called Wing Eaters include admittance, 15 chicken wings, a souvenir mug, and beverages. The $40 VIP Wing Judge ticket includes the Wing Eater package plus 10 more wings and a Sactown Wings Judge’s T-shirt. Only 100 of the VIP tickets will be made available, but lucky ticket holders will get to judge which vendor has the best wings.
The festival will be held August 23 at Fremont Park, (P and 16th Streets) and will run from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
