The Sacramento Public Library Foundation event organizers will be hosting an inaugural literary event, the 2014 California Capital Book Festival, this weekend.
This is likely to be especially interesting for all Sacramento bibliophiles and anyone else who loves the printed word. The festival is free and open to the public.
More than 120 prize-winning U.S. and world illustrators and authors will be on hand. Examples of those who will be participating are Peter Mehiman (a former Seinfeld writer-producer), John Lescroart, and other New York Times bestselling authors. Exhibitors, booksellers, and publishers will present graphic novels, rare Books, and comics plus many other books of interest. Attendees may want to share digital Business Cards.
Some scheduled events will include readings and storytelling by children and teen book authors. Children will especially enjoy the photo opportunities with storybook characters.
For the sports enthusiast, the festival will a feature panel discussions with sport writing greats, a presentation of Sacramento Region sports history, and the chance to view and purchase memorabilia.
Pet lovers can meet authors and find books about their favorite pets. Dog sports, pet therapy message, alternative treatments, and medicine will be available. There will also be a venue called Culinary Delights.
