Brewing company to help Sacramento organization

The Oak Park Brewing Company in Sacramento will be holding a fundraiser for Alchemist CDC in April.

The Root Down Rise Up Fundraiser is a dining experience where participants can enjoy food while supporting a local cause. People can try limited-release beers and non-alcoholic seltzers made using produce from Sacramento. The meal at the fundraiser will include an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. All dishes for the event are prepared with ingredients from farmers’ markets and nearby gardens. Guests can also meet with Alchemist Kitchen entrepreneurs during the fundraiser.

Alchemist CDC is an organization that helps Sacramento communities by increasing access to nutritious foods and creating public green spaces. A few of the group’s projects include the Pansy Community Park & Garden and Oak Park Sol Community Garden. The organization also offers 12-week training courses for starting and growing food businesses. Groups such as Alchemist CDC can use poster printing to increase community interest in their programs.

The Root Down Rise Up Fundraiser will take place on Thursday, April 28 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. All tickets for the experience are sold out, though people can still support Alchemist CDC and its mission by donating online. If any complications cause the in-person program to be canceled, then those who have purchased meal tickets will be given their dinners in to-go containers to bring home.
