The 5th annual Mardi Gras Gala is just around the corner in Riverside.
The event has become the biggest Community Connect fundraiser in town, and this year will offer much the same as years past.
Community Connect is a Riverside based organization that raises funds for use in services geared towards improving the quality of life for those who live here. The organization assists more than 260,000 adults and children each year—money raised during the Mardi Gras event will be a major part of its efforts for 2015.
Those who attend will find an event with a Southern theme, similar to that found in New Orleans each year. There will be an auction, costume contest, Southern-style food, and beverages, along with a variety of music and entertainment. Local eateries will be partaking in jambalaya tasting too.
A Mardi Gras King and Queen will also be crowned, for which voting is still ongoing via the Community Connect website. Visitors may elect to have flyer printing carried out to help advertise the event in their local neighborhoods.
The fundraiser gala will be held on Fat Tuesday, February 17, at Crestmore Manor, 4800 Crestmore Rd., Riverside and will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. There will be no entry fee, through attendees are encouraged to make an appearance and donate as much as they can.
