The Spanish Town Heritage Foundation will be presenting its 10th Annual Riverside Tamale Festival toward the end of April.
Guests will get to enjoy Latino dancers, musicians, bands, and Lucha Libre wrestling, while contributing to the preservation of the Trujillo Adobe.
General admission will be $20, while students, senior citizens, active military, and veterans pay $10. Children 12 and under may get in free when accompanied by a paid adult.
VIP tickets will include festival entry at noon, admission to the VIP room with banquet seating, tamale tasting, and tequila and/or beer tastings. These tickets also include festival tote Bags, Greater Riverside Hispanic Chamber activities, and access to an air-conditioned private area and indoor restroom.
Local companies often sponsor tote bags at events such as this so they can get their Logo Design out to the public.
Entertainment will be Eddie Avila & Co, El Santo Golpe, Outlaw Mariachi, Felipe Orozco y Su Banda, Tierra, and Leyenda Dance Company. The Empire Wrestling Federation will be sending its high-energy team to hold matches throughout the day. Little ones can play in the Kids’ Zone for free.
The main attraction for many will be the Best Tamale Competition. The competition will be divided into vendor and homemade divisions. Four awards will be given in each division – Best Tamale and three runners-up places. Winners will receive plaques or trophies at 5:00 pm.
Riverside Tamale Festival will be Saturday, April 29 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm in Downtown Riverside at White Park.
