Riverside’s Mission Inn Hotel & Spa will once again present its Festival of Lights this year, starting at the end of November.
The venue will be aglow with lighted displays and awash with holiday music. The Winter Wonderland theme will be created with 200 animated characters amid more than five million twinkling lights. Guests can rent horse-drawn carriages that will take them through the festival.
Elves will be enjoying the snow along the North Pole walkway, and the Campanario will once again feature the world’s biggest mistletoe. The path will lead to a life-size gingerbread house and Santa’s workshop, where elves will be busily preparing his sled for the big night.
Guests can also enjoy Breakfast with Santa – a buffet including a performance from dancers from the Nutcracker Ballet.
The Artist Collective will return with local artists displaying and selling their original pieces. Sometimes, visitors at events such as this ask their favorite artists for their Business Cards so they can buy more items from them at a later date. Visitors are also invited to attend free art workshops and discover local musicians.
The celebration will begin Friday, November 29 at 4:30 pm. The annual Switch-On Ceremony, when the whole venue will be lit up at once, will also take place that evening. There will be a fireworks show following the ceremony.
