Riverside supports conservation gala

Riverside will get the opportunity to show its support for Inland Southern California’s open space conservation programs by attending the Annual Rivers & Lands Conservancy Gala coming in mid-October.

The evening will begin at 5:30 pm with a reception at the Riverside Art Museum, 3425 Mission Inn Avenue. Guests will enjoy appetizers and cocktails as they meet and greet animals from Wild Wonders.

The gourmet dinner will start at 6:30 pm. Local humorist, Dan Bernstein, will be returning as Emcee for the evening again this year. Patricia Lock-Dawson will receive this year’s Environmental Excellence Award for her contributions to protecting regional lands, and the Santa Ana River and Trail.

A live auction of art, outdoor gear, and adventures and entertainment packages will garner money for the Outreach and Education programs of the Rivers & Lands Conservancy.

Sponsorships for the Rivers & lands Conservancy Gala start at $1,000 and go up to $10,000. Among other incentives, each sponsorship level comes with having the sponsor’s Logo Design printed on the conservancy’s electronic newsletter and website.

The mission of the Conservancy is to enhance the region’s quality of life by acquiring and maintaining habitats, open spaces and agricultural land. Acorns to Oaks, one of its programs is an environment education program for high school students. Another is The Delhi Sand Dunes Conservation Program.

The Rivers & Land Conservancy Annual Gala will be on the evening of Thursday, October 10.Tickets are $100 each.
