Downtown Riverside will be abuzz with activities to welcome in the new year. No fewer than six events are on the city Calendars for both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
The Influence New Year’s Eve Event will be a party with music from the last decade. Cover songs of John Mayer, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, and James Taylor will bring back memories and everyone will get a chance to win a cassette copy of the night’s performances, along with a Walkman to play it in.
The University Stage will present Hula, Halau Makahawal. This will be the first of the performances during the 25th Annual Festival Lights. Other performance will be Cold Culture, and The Oozie Blues Show. University Stage is between Mission Inn Avenue and University Avenue on Main Street.
The Festival of Lights will have horse-drawn carriages, an Artisans Collective, music, food, live entertainment and some new attractions; namely the Century Wheel, Timeless Train Rides, and a vintage carousel. All this take place in Downtown Redding at 3649 Mission Inn Avenue.
Riverside Downtown Library will hold a New Year’s Eve Family Celebration with piñatas and activities from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
On New Year’s Day, the Festival of Lights will still be running and the University Stage will have five presentations – Grupo Folklorico, Flying Cruisers, Berumen Dance Company, Chase Walker, and a movie.
The Influence Event will be on December 31 starting at noon at the Box at the Fox Theater, 3635 Market Street.Get a Free Quote for Calendars
