Riverside looks forward to pair of events

Two interesting outdoor events are scheduled for Riverside in the next few weeks.

Putts for Paws, a mini-golf tournament, is coming towards the end of August. After that, Arlington Business Partnership at Arlington Village is hosting its 19th Annual Chili Cook-off & Car/Cycle Show in early September.

Castle Park, 3500 Polk Street, is hosting the mini-golf event, with 35% of the proceeds going to Hope for Paws, an animal rescue organization. Starting at noon on August 27, golfers can practice all day until the tournament starts at 5:00 pm. Awards will be presented starting at 9:00 pm, and the entry fee will be $15.

At the Arlington Village 19th Annual Chili Cook-off & Car/Cycle Show, car preregistration can be done online for $40, while cycles can be preregistered for $20.

Homemade chili made at the festival will be available, while summer treats can be purchased from local food vendors. Retail vendors will be selling merchandise, artisans will be vending home-made items, and many local businesses and organizations will be handing out Business Cards and offering information about their goods and services. The venue’s two stages will offer live music.

Guests can be on the lookout for vendors selling black and white T-Shirts, hats, and other items bearing the Riverside Logo Design.

Festivities will take place along Magnolia Avenue between Jackson Street and Van Buren Boulevard on September 3 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
