The 25th Festival of Lights will be opening within the next couple of weeks.
This will be a free event that will run for six weeks and everyone is invited to attend. Over 500,000 visitors come each year to what USA Today has called the ‘Best Public Lights Display in the Nation’.
The Switch-on ceremony will turn the hotel and grounds into a Disneyland-like experience when the five million holiday lights are lit. The evening will end with fireworks.
Around 200 animated characters, such as elves, angels and Dickensian carolers, will be part of the scenery. Santa will be making an appearance and everyone can stand under the world’s largest mad-made mistletoe on the Campanario . There will be elf tuck-ins, carriage rides, and gaily decorated Christmas trees. Casey’s Cupcakes will be offering holiday confections.
A Candy Stroll which is new this year will be a walk ablaze with candy décor that will take visitors to Main Street which will also have a brightly lit canopy, window displays, and candy-themed decor. The hotel will be taking pictures for its 2018 Brochures.
Other family traditions during the festival will be a breakfast with Santa, a Sunday brunch with the Jolly Old Elf, a holiday champagne brunch, and a holiday dinner buffet.
Opening ceremonies will be November 24 at the Mission Inn Hotel and Spa, 3649 Mission Ave, Riverside, starting at 4:30 pm.
