All aviation enthusiasts will want to put time aside for the upcoming Riverside Airport Open House and Airshow 2016 coming early next month.
The day will be full of demonstrations, exhibits, and plenty of aerial maneuvers. Event organizers tout this event as ‘One of Riverside’s two largest family entertainment events’ as over 90,000 spectators are expected, with poster printing no doubt helping to boost publicity further.
The airport will have over 200 acres of aircraft exhibits. Aerobatics such as a 1946 Taylorcraft piloted by Dr. D and professional skydiving will be part of the day’s entertainment. As always, the Warbirds will be demonstrating their aerial expertise. The event will also feature other military aircraft and vehicles, helicopter displays, and replicas. There will be RC Model Flights, EAA Young Eagles and K-9 demos.
Along with the airshow, there will be an Antique and Classic Airplane Show, an Emergency Preparedness Fair, and a Car Show. Of course there will be food, souvenir, and aviation vendors as well.
The airshow will be this Saturday, April 2, starting at 9:00 am and ending at 4:00 pm at the Riverside Airport, 6951 Flight Road, Riverside. Although admission will be free, parking will cost $10. Fly-Ins will be welcome and can be done between the hours of 7:00 am and 9:30 am. Early arrivers can enjoy a pancake breakfast starting at 7:00 am, or breakfast at the D and D Airport Café starting at 6:00 am.
