Easter is only a few weeks away and it is time to enjoy those bunny and chick shaped marshmallow treats called peeps. For 10 years now, the local library has been hosting its annual Dragonmarsh Peep Show, and the one for this year is coming up fast.
The main feature of the event will be displays of the treats as they are melted, cut up and molded into interesting displays of snowmen, black cats, hearts and anything else the peep creators can envision. Some rather odd displays will involve peep autopsy and peep jousting.
Many of these displays have been handcrafted by Mora Blackmarsh years before the show was created. Her daughter, Morigianna, has taken it upon herself to continue crafting the collections and continues putting on the show.
Guests will be invited to enter peep races and play peep pong. Everyone will get the opportunity to play ‘stack-a-peep’. There will be a peep calling contest and a sing-a-long.
Attendees are encouraged to turn up dressed as their favorite peeps and have their pictures taken. These pictures can go to local Print shops for Copies to include in Easter cards.
Peep aficionados will want to ace the peep fun fact quiz, and recipes will be available for families to make treats at home.
The DragonMarsh Tenth Annual Peep Show will be Saturday, March 24 from noon until 4:00 pm at the City of Riverside Main Library, 3581 Mission Ave.
