The Arlington Business Partnership’s 15th Annual Chili Cook-off and Car/Cycle Show is just around the corner. Thousands of chili connoisseurs and bike and car aficionados are expected to attend.
Local businesses, restaurants, and community organizations will be competing in the cook-off, for which there will be three categories again this year.
The contest will crown a Restaurant Chili Cook and a Community Chili Cook. Winners will receive $500 for first place, $300 for second, and $200 for third. All competitors will be hoping to become the International Chili Society California State Champion. This year’s winner may want a photo for future poster printing.
There will also be an open salsa contest. One to five entries winners will receive $250 for first place, and a ribbon for second and third places. Those winners who submit between six and ten entries will also receive $250 for first, but $100 for second and $50 for third places. Those who submit between 11 and 15 entries will get $500 for first, $250 for second, and $100 for third.
Two stages will have live entertainment. Kids can enjoy rock climbing, pony rides, jumpers, and a petting zoo in the kids’ zone.
Over 100 vendors – featuring Arlington BID vendors along with nonprofit, artisan, commercial/retail, and food vendors – will be onsite.
The event is scheduled from 9:30 am until 5:00 pm on May 27 at Arlington Village, 9471 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside.
