Riverside celebrates the holidays

Folks here in Riverside will be out buying trees and toys, and celebrating Hanukkah during the next few weeks.

First up, Festival of Trees Holiday Fair will be a two-day event with proceeds going to the Riverside University Health System Foundation.

Around 50 decorated trees will be on display, and over 50 local artisans and craft vendors will be selling original, handcrafted items. Free children’s activities will include crafts and making Holiday Cards. Santa will be available for pictures.

The Festival of Trees Holiday Fair will be at the Riverside Convention Center, 3637 5th Street next Friday and Saturday, November 24 and 25, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Xmas Toy Mania will be a great event to shop for presents as it will offer more than 85 vendors. Other amenities will include kids’ crafts, seasonal treats, and photo opportunities. This will be Saturday, December 2 from noon to 5:00 pm at La Sierra High School, 4145 La Sierra Avenue.

Finally, Chabad Jewish Community Center will be holding its 19th Annual Chanukah Festival with a Grand Menorah Lighting, live music, family-oriented activities, and traditional food. All are welcome and admission will be free.

Lighted menorahs are often used by Stationery printers for holiday notecard sets.

The Chanukah Festival will take place at the Riverside County Historic Courthouse, 4050 Main Street from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, December 11.
