The City of Riverside will be presenting its 18th Annual Chili Cook-Off & Car/Cycle Show in early September.
The show will feature cars, bicycles and cycles with trophies going to the top 10 entries and best in show. Registration will be from 5:00 am until 8:00 am with judging following from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Winners will be notified between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Awards will be presented at 4:00 pm.
The car/cycle/bicycle show will be on Magnolia Avenue between Jackson Street and Van Buren Blvd.
The chili competition will have two divisions – Homestyle chili and citrus inspired BBQ. Homestyle chili will include meat (cut, ground or seafood) and vegetables with or without beans and chili pepper and spices. BBQ may be either beef or chicken and must be marinated or seasoned with orange flavoring.
Two-ounce tastings will be available starting at 10:00 am. Winners will be announced at 3:00 pm.
Food and drinks vendors will offer alternative goodies to the chili and barbeque tastings. Area merchants will be manning booths displaying and selling their products and services. Artisans will also have booths filled with original creative items. Associations, clubs, and some businesses will no doubt be handing out Business Cards and Flyers with information about their missions, goods, programs and services.
The 18th Annual Chili cook-Off & Car/Cycle Show will take place Saturday, September 4th from 10:00 to 6:00 pm in Riverside’s Arlington Village.
