Riverside pet owners, their pets, friends, family, or anyone else is invited to participate in a stroll later this month to support both pet ownership and the fight against cancer.
Called the Bark for Life of Riverside, the walk is also a celebration of life and an acknowledgement of those who are currently fighting cancer or are in remission, as well as remembrance of those who lost their battle.
The walk will consist of pet owners and their pets (which means mostly dogs) walking together to raise funds and awareness of the continuing fight against the many Forms of cancer. It will be noncompetitive and encouraging for all who participate.
The walk will also focus for a time on the role that pets, especially dogs, play in care-giving for those who have lost some abilities due to cancer. Donations can be made directly to the American Cancer Society or through event volunteers. Participants may want to have flyer printing done to promote the event in their own neighborhoods.
The Walk will take place Saturday May 23, starting at 9:00 am at Grove Community Church, 19900 Grove Community Drive. There is no need to register in advance, the walk will be free, and there is still room for volunteers who wish to help with planning or organizing the event.Get a Free Quote for Forms
