Locals invited to annual Marshmallow Peep Show
Riverside Downtown Partnership and DragonMarsh are once again presenting their annual Peep Show. This will be the 13th year for the celebration of the marshmallow treats.
The four-hour event will have a coloring contest, for which page can be found on the event’s Facebook page. There will also be Peep races, trivia and jousting.
Guests can enjoy the Peep Museum showcasing these and other candies, plushies and toys. They can learn about Peep making and its history, get recipes, and join in the Peep singalong. Christmas, Halloween, and Valentine Day Peeps will make a special appearance.
Attendees can bring their own Peeps and enter the Best Dressed Peep Contest. Entries that have been popular in the past have been sports, celebrities, historical figures, and music. Judges will be looking for creativity, design, and use/manipulation of Peeps. Prizes will be awarded for winners in different age groups. The contest will be held at 2:00 pm.
Guests can dress up as their favorite Peep and have their pictures taken. People that take the time to create costumes like these often have pictures of themselves in their creations taken to local stationery printers to become part of their yearly family calendars.
The event will be at the Riverside Main Library, 3900 Mission Inn Avenue on Saturday, April 16 from noon until 4:00 pm.
