Local college offers science policy symposium

The University of California, Riverside will be presenting the 2024 National Science Policy Symposium in mid-April.

The symposium will bring together enthusiasts, policymakers, and scientists to experience presentations, thought-provoking discussions, and interactive workshops presented by well-known experts. This year's theme will be "Local to Global Innovation: Science & Technology Policy for a Prosperous Future."

Topics to be covered include artificial intelligence, clean energy, and blockchain. Attendees will examine climate change, privacy, public health, and challenges, advantages, threats, and opportunities of technological progress. Impact of these technical advances on our community and equity prioritization will also be discussed.

Social events and check-in will be on the Friday, followed by leadership address, keynote speaker, and morning sessions on the Saturday. Everyone will stop for lunch, and that will be followed by networking and reception.

Many attendees will no doubt be getting their Business Cards updated and sent for business card printing beforehand, ensuring the information on them is current.

Sunday’s symposium will begin with breakfast and networking, and then proceed with a keynote speaker, career fair, committee meetings, and science policy recognitions.

Early bird non-member professional tickets will be $190, early bird non-member student tickets are $100, and non-member virtual tickets are $90.

The 2024 National Science Policy Symposium will take place Friday, April 12 from 1:00 pm to Sunday, April 14 at 3:30 pm at the University of California, Riverside, 900 University Avenue.
