The Innovate Riverside event, which was to be Saturday, May 2 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Main Street Mall between Mission Avenue and 6th Street, has been postponed due to the COVID-19 situation. It will be rescheduled at a later date.
The event will be a Riverside STEM Academy Community Fair featuring hands- experiences, entertainment, exhibits and community connections. The event will be free.
Student-designed and built tiny houses will be onsite, allowing guests to explore sustainable living. Attendees may also race a solar car program a robot and make slime. They can also create wearable art, touch a snake, and become crime busters.
Art, theater, and instrumental and vocal music performances will be on stage. Entertainment will also feature a poetry slam and speeches. Students will display solutions to local challenges, and present information on our local culture, history, and nature.
Local museums will also have exhibits discussing free solar ideas and resources. There will be information on food security, air and water sustainability, poverty, and city development. Guests can also get information regarding community service project ideas and student exchanges with sister cities.
Recently, interested parties that are looking forward to attending events such as this have decided to get a little flyer printing done to get the word out once the new date has been announced.
