Growth event crops up in Riverside

Local politicians, citizens groups, activists, and anyone else in the Riverside area interested in being part of the process in forging a path ahead in the growth of seed crops in the area may want to attend the second annual GrowRIVERSIDE Conference.

Titled ‘The Future of Local Food’, the event will feature talks, presentations, and a chance to get involved in one of the biggest economic impactors in the state, and this particular area of it.

This year’s conference will consist of a series of events, each dedicated to an individual aspect of the future of locally food grown in the area. The idea is to foster communication that will lead to people exploring ideas on how to create vibrant food systems for all concerned—focusing most specifically on sustainable farming, community involvement, and environmental concerns. It is being hosted by Seedstock in conjunction with the City of Riverside, and should provide an excellent opportunity for networking and, of course, sharing digital Business Cards with like-minded people.

The conference will be held at the Riverside Convention Center, 3637 Fifth Street, Riverside this Thursday, June 11, with individual sessions running at different times. Each ticket package has an individual cost, running from $35 to $134, depending on which parts of the conference attendees wish to attend. Tickets can be purchased online.
