Riverside runners will be starting the New Year with a rather fragrant Citrus Heritage Run 2022 coming in the first part of January. The event will offer a half marathon, 10K, 5K, and a Kids Fun Run.
Registration for the half marathon will be $90, for the 10K will be $60, $45 for the 5K, and $20 for the Kids Fun Run.
Race perks will include technical T-Shirts sporting the event’s Logo Design, finisher medals, Mylar heat blankets, fresh orange slices from a local orange grower, a cup of chili, and beer. Race results will be professionally timed.
The course will take runners through orange groves located in The California Citrus Historic State Park. Entertainment and hydration stations will be along the way.
Trophies will be awarded to the top male and female finishers in the 5K, 10K, and half marathon. Awards will also go to top finishers in age group categories in all three adult races.
The half marathon will begin at 6:30 am, and the 10K will begin at 7:30 am. The 5K starts at 8:45 with the one-mile Kids Fun Run starting at 9:45 am.
Citrus Garden Festival will be held near the finish line at Arlington Heights Sports Park. The festival will have a live band, free tamales, hand-crafted mimosas, fresh orange juice, and celebratory beer.
Citrus Heritage Run 2022 will take place Friday, January 8 and all races will begin at the intersection of Gibson Street and Victoria Avenue.
