The Mission Inn and Spa is inviting residents of Riverside and the surrounding area to its upcoming five-week 22nd Annual Festival of Lights.
The kickoff event at the end of this month will feature The Switch-On Ceremony, and more than 50,000 visitors are expected for this part of the festival alone.
Millions of LED twinkly lights strung by volunteers from the Festival of Lights committee and the Greater Riverside Chamber of Commerce will light up Riverside. Fireworks will add to the ambiance of the first night of the event.
Visitors can take carriage rides or ice skate at the local rink, and the kiddies can visit Santa at the Santa House until Christmas Eve. On the weekends, the festival will also feature the Artisan Collective; an arts market where local artists will be in full force with handmade items and original art for one-of-a-kind presents for all the names on anyone’s Christmas list.
Live entertainment will be provided by local amateur talent, and professional talent will be on stage too. Performances will range from musical solos, duos, and trios and bands, to choral, dance, and magic. Around 250,000 visitors are expected to attend, so sponsors will want to get their banner printing done as soon as possible.
The festival will begin on Riverside’s Main Street at noon this Friday, November 28, with the Switch-On Ceremony starting 4:30 pm.
