Wildlife center to present crafts workshop

Pleasant Hill families can attend a nature-themed crafts workshop in December offered by the Lindsay Wildlife Experience.

Collected Creations is an activity where children can play with plants and design personal art projects. The pieces made during the course will be kept by the participants. The workshop is designed to be beginner friendly and will provide step-by-step guidance for finishing the crafts. All guests will also be given an information sheet with more ideas and tips for additional plant crafts that can be made at home.

The Lindsay Wildlife Experience was first formed in 1955 and was initially known as the Diablo Junior Museum Association. The name was later changed in 2015 after the facility was moved to Larkey Park. The organization aims to connect people with wildlife and inspire respect for the Earth. Caretakers at the museum look after 70 animal ambassadors and have treated over 5,000 wild animals. The Lead Animal Keepers for the group are Rachael Cross, Adam Lepkowski, and Mandy McGuire.

The crafts workshop will take place on Sunday, December 19, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm and is intended for those 12 and older. Tickets to the course are available for $40 for members of the Lindsay Wildlife Experience. Non-members can pay $45. Those who purchase two or more tickets can get a discount. Crafting activities similar to this may be shown off to local families through poster printing.
