A volunteer cleanup project is coming to a creek in Pleasant Hill this May, and community members who wish to make a difference are invited to sign up.
The Grayson Creek Earth Day 2026, which is being organized by The Watershed Project, has announced an official date on the calendar, allowing nature lovers and community members to fit the event into their plans. The purpose of the cleanup session is to remove litter and improve the Grayson Creek area for birds, otters, turtles, and riparian species who are native to the area.
Volunteers from the Contra Costa Resource Conservation District will join the Watershed Project, along with Friends of Pleasant Hill’s Creeks. The restoration efforts will double as a learning event, and volunteers will pick up trash and assist with community data collection. Organizers can announce such events to the community through flyer printing, with colorful Flyers producing thousands of impressions when placed in public areas.
Each volunteer should dress for the conditions. Long sleeves and pants are encouraged, along with sturdy shoes or boots. Refreshments, snacks, and cleanup supplies will be provided. All volunteers must be 16 or over to sign up, upon completing the required waiver.
Volunteers will gather at 250 Cleaveland Road in Pleasant Hill on Saturday, May 9th, at 9:00 AM. Registration is open online at no cost.
