Pleasant Hill to teach adults about youth mental health

The Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) in Pleasant Hill will be holding an informational event this February about mental health-related issues in youth.

Those interested in learning how to assist young people dealing with mental health challenges can attend a public presentation at the CCCOE. The event will help adults understand the proper methods of offering initial help to youth showing Signs of mental illness. The course is designed for those who work with kids and young adults, including teachers, coaches, nurses, and parents. Organizations that hold events such as this can use Print shops to design ads that inform locals about upcoming activities.

The CCCOE was initially established in the 1900s by Superintendent A. A. Bailey. The office provides many services for the local school system, such as internet access, supplemental programs, and special and alternative education. Events hosted by the organization like the Mock Trial Program and National History Day offer students activities that challenge and educate them.

The Youth Mental Health First Aid Training program will be held on Monday, February 10 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. There is no cost to join the educational event, though all guests should register in advance. Anyone who wishes to stay informed about future workshops offered by the CCCOE can check its online calendar for updates.
