Pleasant Hill fundraiser addresses down syndrome

Pleasant Hill Middle School will be hosting the Bay Area Step Up Walk & Family Picnic in October to raise funds for a good cause.

The Bay Area Step Up Walk & Family Picnic is an event where people can celebrate all abilities while supporting the Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area. The festive program helps raise awareness as part of National Down Syndrome Awareness Month. A few activities offered at the event include walking the school’s track and participating in a flash mob led by the founder of Kidz Groove, Princess Ryan. This year, the organizers are aiming to raise at least $225,000.

Local businesses interested in helping the cause may become sponsors for the fundraiser. There are five sponsorship levels for stores, ranging from $1,000 to $15,000. Companies that contribute $5,000 or more will have an opportunity to set up a booth during the event. All sponsor levels will have their logo featured on the fundraiser’s website. Vendors who attend charitable community gatherings like this can connect with people by giving them Promotional Products.

The walking event will take place on Sunday, October 17 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. People can support the cause by purchasing branded merchandise from the Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area. The organization will be selling face masks for $12, holiday card packs for $20, and decals for $10.
