Pleasant Hill activity to educate families about pollinators

The Pollinator Posse will be visiting the Pleasant Hill Instructional Garden in April to give a lesson about local pollinators.

Families interested in celebrating Earth Day by learning more about the environment can attend a program at the Pleasant Hill Instructional Garden. The experience will include a tour of the facility, hands-on demonstrations, and educational displays. Guests will also learn from experts about how what small changes they can make to reduce their impact on climate change. The presenter of the Earth Day program is James Hale.

The Pollinator Posse is an organization that educates communities about the importance of the local creatures of Northern California, and helps people appreciate their local ecosystems. The group also creates landscapes that are friendly to pollinators. The posse was formed in 2013 due to concerns about pollinators surviving in urban settings and has since made multiple acres of habitats for these animals in the community. The group also maintains existing habitats.

The program will take place on Saturday, April 22 from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Registration for the garden’s activity will open to the public on April 12. There are no fees to participate in the event, though only a limited number of people can tour the garden. Organizers for informative community programs like this may use flyer printing to get more families interested in the events.
