Childrens entertainer to perform at Pleasant Hill library

The Pleasant Hill Library will invite a special guest to kick off one of its summer programs in June.

The Summer Reading Kick-Off with Andy Z is an event that encourages children to read throughout the summer with a dance party. Andy Z is a family-friendly performer known for his fun and easy-going music style. His true name is Andy Zamenes, and he initially started in the music industry by playing in various bands in the San Francisco Bay Area. He also earned a degree in music from San Francisco State University and has experience in the computer industry.

Andy Z has created several original songs, including I Went to a Party with Dinosaurs, Sticky Bubble Gum, and Spring Has Sprung. Zamenes plays at local venues in California, such as the San Jose Children’s Discovery Museum and the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History. He even hosts workshops for educators to teach them how to engage with kids through music and movement. Schools can also book Andy Z as a virtual or in-person guest.

The summer kick-off performance will be on Tuesday, June 6, from 6:30 pm to 7:15 pm. No registration is needed to see Andy Z perform, and all ages are welcome to his show. Libraries that host family-friendly concerts like this can get more patrons interested by using poster printing services.
