Oceanside’s Thanksgiving Day Run is considered one of the country’s top “Turkey Trots,” and this year, the public is invited out to start the day on an active note.
Registration opens at 6:00 am on Thanksgiving Day, and the first event of the day, a five-mile, run starts at 6:45 am followed by a 5K Run at 8:05 am. Those who prefer a slower pace can take part in the 5K walk that begins at 8:35 am with the last wave of walkers leaving at 9:00 am. All of these events start at the Oceanside Civic Center and end at the historic Oceanside Pier. A full two miles of the course offers stunning ocean views.

This will be a family-friendly event with runs for all ages. At 10:00 am, seniors over 65 and children 7-12 years old can take part in the one-mile Move Your Feet Before You Eat run. Also starting at 10:25 am at Tyson Park will be the 0.2-mile Tiny Turkey Trot for children six years and younger.
Live entertainment will be on hand, and a Thanksgiving-themed costume contest will be held as well commemorative T-Shirts and finisher medals for those who get out and “trot”.
