What's Happening in Oceanside, CA…

Approval given by Oceanside planners for 80+ homes

Oceanside planning commissioners have given the go ahead for the construction of 83 single-family detached homes adjacent to Guajome Lake Regional Park.

The parcel of land in question is 16.78 acres that will, in addition to the 83 single-family lots, be subdivided to include six common lots. Four plots will be set aside for low-income homes, per the California density bonus law, creating an entitlement of a 20 percent density bonus.

Before new homes or apartments are finished, brochure printing services are employed, using artist’s renderings to drum up interest.

Individual lots range between 2,464 square feet and 5,390 square feet with floor plans available between 1,869 and 2,220 square feet. Guajome Lake Road, currently not paved, will be paved and widened to 34 feet with a 5-foot sidewalk and 5-foot parkway.

The property will have two access points and will include a private 28-foot to 32-foot-wide loop road and a centrally located 35,000-square-foot recreation area. Additionally, around seven acres would be left wild to preserve riparian areas and habitats along with a sage scrub coastal hillside and a stream.

Each individual house will have a driveway space capable of accommodating two vehicles as well as a two-car garage.

Despite not being in a High Fire Severity Zone, safety measures are going to be implemented, per the developer Rincon Homes, exceeding code requirements.
